Pageant week finally had began on Sunday July 17th the girls started off with a successful sponsor night in hotel ballroom of the holiday inn at Toronto Pearson international airport. where we all got the chance to meet each other and meet our awesome sponsors along with trying there products! every sponsor had something for us to try and it was a great opportunity to learn about these products. I was feeling great that I had this opportunity to be introduced to some Canadian products/businesses that I did not know about. The party was so much fun the atmosphere was great and plus there was lots of goodies !
Several tables were set up in the ballroom and the first one I headed to was sweets Canada because I could not resist there delicious gourmet chocolate that they offered to everyone. Along with the amazing chocolate testing that we received we also were given gourmet chocolate bars and edible flower bars. There was a perfect variety for each delegate. Talk about delicious 😍
Make sure to keep updated with there tasty treats on Twitter @sweetscanadaCA also follow their parent company Q foods Canada @QFoodsCanada
Next booth I headed to was Archers arena, they had a bow and arrow for us to play with. It was an awesome experience because I have always wanted to try archery and I am so excited to go to the archers arena and try it out! Stay updated for the hashtag #archerytag. this is an awesome experience to learn how to do archery and to bond with your friends.
Next table was Nuvango , a clothing company out of Toronto that designs beautiful unique clothing. A lot of their clothing is based off of Art work from talented artists all across the world so every piece is different ! It was so cool to be given a piece of their clothing as they had had leggings, skirts, and shirts on display for each delegate to receive. On Tuesday July 19th, we got to go for a tour of the Nuvango headquarters. We also even got to model their new clothing line and have a photoshoot with their talented photographer. This was one of my best experiences so far I love art and what girl doesn’t love new clothes ! Nuvango is awesome for people who love art and staying stylish.

There was a golf station from Bradlee Ryall golf Inc. which we could try and get a hole in one. If you got it (I didn’t ) there was a fun competition towards the end of our night. We visited the golf course and it was one of my favourite activities! We learned putting, Driving and chipping! It was awesome that they provided us with a fun filled morning and taught us a lot about golf which I learned is also proven to be one of the hardest sports. We enjoyed our awesome lunch and service. Thanks to Bradlee Ryall golf Inc for this fun experience. Manitoba girls ❤️
Hashtagio was a program that generated all of our posts that were hashtagged with #missteenagecanada2016. With this hashtag the social media that was posted showed up on a big screen. It was great to see all the pictures being posted of the different provinces and everyone having a good time.

To me, this is my personal favorite place in my region. It is a beautiful island that is a well known resort in Manitoba. Hecla Island could be described as its own piece of paradise. Commonly known as a place for families to get away, Hecla has many historical features such as old fashioned stores, and buildings that can take you back in time. I love going there to spend time at the Lakeview resort with my family. I have been visiting Hecla my whole life so it is a place that I hold close to my heart. I have made many memories in Hecla whether it was fishing with my dad, at the spa with my mom and sister, or sitting around a campfire with my family and friends. There are very few people in my region that can’t describe a memory they have made on this island. Tourists from all over Canada come to Hecla every year for a great experience.
Hecla is known as an Icelandic community, which interests me because I have Icelandic heritage and I love to learn about the culture of ancestors.
Hecla offers various activities for all seasons of the year. In the summer it is common that people will camp, fish, golf, or go to the beach . A recommendation of mine would be to visit Hecla bar, it is a big beach that can only be accessed by boat. It is so fun to go and spend the day there with family or friends, pack a picnic and soak up the sun! In the winter, people will go sledding down the big hills, ice fishing, or skiing. Whatever you feel like doing for entertainment Hecla has it! If you love the outdoors you can camp at their wonderful campground that is full of people all summer long, if you are a person that likes to be inside and have a well serviced get away, the Lakeview resort has it all, a beautiful spa and great food as well.
This place not only has given me a fun experience, but memories I will treasure for a lifetime!
I am a 17 year old girl from a small town in Manitoba. I cannot believe the opportunity I have received to compete in Miss Teenage Canada pageant! So far it has been slightly overwhelming as it is crunch time preparing for nationals, however I am honestly so excited to meet the other delegates and to experience this journey of a lifetime. Next week I will be on a plane to Toronto to compete and it came so quick!
To be honest a pageant was not something I would have usually joined although I am so happy that I did. The journey so far has been incredible and I’m sure it will only get more exciting from here! Being able to represent the Interlake is truly such an honour, having people look up to you as a public figure is great feeling and I look forward to be able to continue this journey for a whole year.
I am actually quite a shy person however being in a pageant has given me the opportunity to be myself and to gain confidence. I’ve always loved to be on stage whether it is singing or dancing. It is such a satisfying feeling for people to watch you and appreciate your efforts and talents. Since I was young I have always wanted to pursue singing. My dreams started to come true and now I have my own music and experiences that I will hold close forever. I love to spend time with my friends and family and no matter how busy I am I never pass up the opportunity to spen time with them. I am a girl that has always loved to get dolled up, however I also love being outdoors and playing sports.
I am beyond excited for this journey and to meet people along the way. I appreciate being able to gain knowledge being a title holder. I cannot wait for what nationals and this year has in store! Keep updated for more posts soon 🙂
Sincerely, Miss Teenage Interlake 2016
Are you aware of how the people around you are feeling most of the time? Not many people are.
My platform is to raise awareness for mental health and mental illness. There are so many mental illness’ out there that you literally never know when someone may be suffering from one.
The reason I chose this as my platform is because I know how those suffering feel and I know the effect that mental illness can have on someone. Hearing about the effects and people harming themselves and even committing suicide is so sad and makes me very upset.
I have had a number of friends who thought nothing of themselves because of something that is going on in their head. I tried helping them as much as I could but there’s only an extent you could go to. When you have a mental illness, it seriously consumes you and you can barely think about anything else but the mental illness. My platform means a lot to me because no one should feel that way, it is an awful feeling and it will destroy you.
As Miss Teenage Canada, I would speak about my platform as much as I could to a crowd, especially young kids and young teenagers. I would tell everyone that you don’t have to suffer in silence. Speak up about how you’re feeling and find the proper help that you deserve.
Hey everyone!! I’m Kaitlyn and I am currently 18 years old living in a small town called Stonewall!
I’m a different type of girl, I still enjoy shopping, getting my hair and nails done and all that stuff, but honestly I would rather be playing a contact sport or hanging out with my brothers and some guy friends!
I grew up right on the heels of my two older brothers, trying to do whatever they were doing even if it included jumping off the roof of my garage into the snow. To say the least, my brothers are a big part of who I am today.
Not only them, my mom and dad have taught me how to be my own person, trying new things and not being scared to do what I want. I have always been interested in pageants but never really had the courage to sign up for one, until my mom told me about Miss Teen Manitoba. I honestly thought, “All of these girls are so pretty and have awesome personalities, I’ll never win!” but I figured I would still give it a shot. I’m glad I did and so excited to be going to nationals in August for Miss Teen Canada!!
Anyways, many more posts to come so stay tuned!!
